The full-time Surgical Technology faculty member/Clinical Coordinator, will be responsible for quality instruction, effective participation, and interest in the total affairs of the Surgical Technology program and the college. In addition, the Surgical Technology Faculty/Clinical Coordinator, is responsible for coordinating, orienting, supervising, and
evaluating students at all external locations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- 40% Provide administration, organization, and supervision of student clinical experience.
- 30% Ensure documentation of the evaluation and progression of clinical performance leading to clinical competence.
- 10% Provide continuous quality review and improvement of student clinical experience.
- 10% Provide academic oversight, including curriculum planning and development of student clinical experience.
- 5% Ensure orientation to the program's requirements of the personnel supervising or instructing students at clinical sites.
- 5% Coordinate the assignments of students to clinical sites.
The Faculty/Clinical Coordinator should pursue ongoing formal training to maintain and upgrade their professional, instructional, and administrative capabilities.

● Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
● Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
● Have a minimum of three years of documented experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
● Possess knowledge of the curriculum.
● Possess knowledge about the program's evaluation of student learning and performance. Persons approved as Clinical Coordinators under previous Standards will continue to be approved in that position at that institution.
